Appareance: Orata is a young, short girl with a slightly curvy figure. She has curly hazelnut hair reaching to her shoulders, with strands of it covering some of her face and teal eyes. She wears a white, untidy buttoned shirt with a short sweater on it, with crossed blue arrows imprinted at its front. She also wears wrinkled pants, baggy socks and brown sneakers, and a blue cap on her head.

Personality: Orata is extremly distant, starring and typing at her phone most of the time. She is very distant from the students, and extremly focused on her chatrooms, and whenever someone interrupts her chats, she becomes grouchy and begins grumbling to herself. Once she finishes talking to those in front of her, she instantly returns to chatting. However, once she speaks to someone she likes she can become cheerful and even bubbly, which contrasts her distant personality she usually has. Orata enjoyed listening to people with great ambitions, mainly due to feeling they can do what she was never able to, and is also the reason she befriends people such as Leon Kuwata and Sakura Ohgami. Once she loses her friends, however, she quickly becomes emotional and outbursts to tears of fear and sorrow, but later becomes aloof and sarcastic, talking in a malicious tone to those around her. However, she can still speak to those she enjoys being with about her struggles.  After Sakura's death, Orata's malicious nature grows larger by time, and she loses her sanity slowly. Soon enough, it turns out she caught the Despair Disease due to the loss of her dearest friends, and turned her to a Despair obssessed and mentally unstable girl. However, she hasn't lost her sanity completley, as she still talks to Asahina and Makoto about herself and off course about the despair everyone feels, but on the contrary, she becomes much more cruel to Toko and Togami.

During her Free-Time events, it is revealed that her Father is American while her Mother is Japanese. It is also revealed she has a kitten she enjoys feeding and petting it when she is at home, that she has almost 100 chatrooms she manages and almost 300 friends from all over the world, with 69 friends from the USA, and that she despises Math class, yet enjoys school lectures. She also  hugs people when she's anxious or when she feels truly lonely.


History:

Before The Tragedy:

Orata is the daughter of an American computer engineer and a Japanese teacher. She was homeschooled most of the years by her Mother, which caused her to be secluded from society, and instead focus on the computers her Father was fixing for a living. She was so obssessed over chatting with friends online, that it became her biggest passion, and she was spending her time mostly in front of her computer screen, though still heading to eat and take a leak when needed. However, when her parents informed her that she will begin learning in Hope's Peak Academy, Orata had a hard time digesting the fact and isolated herself, chatting for days untill her time to leave to the academy came. She entered to Hope's Peak Academy's 78th class as the Ultimate Online Chatter, and used her smartphone to chat, instead. Suprisingly enough, she managed to warm up to and befriend some of her classmates, notibly Sakura, Aoi, Leon and Mondo.

During the Tragedy:

One year later, The Tragedy occurred. During The Tragedy, Jin Kirigiri, the Headmaster of the Academy, planned to seal the school building and let the students live forever inside the Academy in order to protect them from the destruction. His plan was agreed by the class, and they sealed the building together and lived peacefully inside it for a year without knowing that the Ultimate Despair members were already in their midst.

The true Ultimate Despair took away the 78th Class' school memories so they could participate in the school life of mutual killing.
